Ryan is not just a composer and musician, but also a web developer who dislikes piña coladas and getting caught in the rain. He completed the Technical Web Design program at BCIT in 2016 and quite enjoys coding websites. Interestingly, it is his music background that lead Ryan to explore web development.
Starting back in 1999 using good old Netscape Composer (anyone remember that old chestnut?) he built a website for SARV, his first a cappella quartet. Ryan continued this tradition with multiple groups as the years continued, progressing through a variety different site-building programs. This culminated in Ryan’s desire to have a personal website to share recordings of compositions etc. as he was nearing the end of his BMus degree.

Ryan eventually turned to WordPress after learning that Apple would be discontinuing iWeb. This lead to discovery after discovery of what was possible with WordPress, if one only knew how to write the code to implement it. Ryan became hooked and had to learn more, so he enrolled at BCIT in 2015.
As a web developer, Ryan focuses on building sites using WordPress because he really likes how it enables him to create solutions for the site’s client that is easy for them to use to continue to maintain and add content to their site.
